About the event

The Nordic Fund Selection Forum is one of the longest running events dedicated to fund selectors and institutional investors in the Nordic region. The event offers ample opportunities for delegates to meet and exchange ideas with selector peers. 

The event is also an effective platform to gain insight from leading fund managers across a range of asset classes. The event is strictly for invited fund selectors and institutional investors. Niklas Tell
Founder & Chief Content Officer at Tell Media Group

Niklas Tell is a founding partner and chief content officer at Tell Media Group, a Swedish based research and publishing company focused on the asset management industry. He is the driving force behind the company’s research, editorial and advisory efforts. Niklas Tell has covered and commented on the Nordic and inter national fund industry since 1998. Prior to establishing Tell Media Group and launching the first local b2b magazine for the Nordic asset management industry in 2006, he helped establish Morningstar in Europe and was its first european director of fund analysis. Niklas Tell has a degree in economics and business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and is a member of the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and he is often invited to address senior management teams on different topics and trends affecting the asset management industry.

Antti Ilmanen
Principal and Global Co-head of the Portfolio Solutions Group at AQR Capital Management

Antti Ilmanen is a Principal and Global Co-head of the Portfolio Solutions Group at AQR Capital Management. In this role, he manages the team responsible for advising institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds and develops the firm's broad investment ideas. Prior to joining AQR, Antti spent seven years as a senior portfolio manager at Brevan Howard and a decade in a variety of roles at Salomon Brothers/Citigroup. He began his career as a central bank portfolio manager in Finland. Over the years, he has advised many institutional investors, including Norway’s Government Pension Fund Global and the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation. Antti has published extensively in finance and investment journals and has received a Graham and Dodd award, the Harry M. Markowitz special distinction award, and multiple Bernstein Fabozzi/Jacobs Levy awards for his articles. Antti is the author of Expected Returns (Wiley, 2011), a broad synthesis of the central issues in investing, and Investing Amid Low Expected Returns (Wiley, 2022), which addresses the challenges facing investors amid the prospect of record-low future expected returns. He also received the CFA Institute's 2017 Leadership in Global Investment Award. Antti earned M.Sc. degrees in economics and law from the University of Helsinki and a Ph.D. in finance from the University of Chicago.

Ben Pakenham
Head of European High Yield & Global Loans at abrdn

Ben started his career as high yield analyst at New Star Asset Management in 2005 before moving to Henderson in 2009, where he became a fund manager in 2010. He joined abrdn as a Senior Investment Manager in late 2011. Ben was named lead manager of the Euro High Yield Bond Fund, amongst others, in January 2012 and was promoted to Deputy Global Head of High Yield in early 2016. Ben has been the Head of European High Yield and Global Loans since August 2020.

Fraser Lundie
CFA, Head of Fixed Income – Public Markets at Federated Hermes Limited

Fraser joined in February 2010 and is Head of Fixed Income – Public Markets and lead manager on the range of credit strategies. Based in London, he is responsible for leading the strategic development of the Credit platform and investment teams, offering solutions accessing all areas of the global credit markets. Prior to this, he was at Fortis Investments, where he was responsible for European High Yield. Fraser graduated from the University of Aberdeen with an MA (Hons) in Economics; he earned an MSc in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling and is a CFA charterholder. In 2017, Fraser joined the board of CFA UK, a member society of the CFA Institute, where he is also Chair of their Sustainability Steering Committee, as well as the Professionalism Steering Committee overseeing the society’s advocacy and thought leadership work. He has previously featured in the Financial News’ ‘40 Under 40 Rising Stars of Asset Management’, an editorial selection of the brightest up-and-coming men and women in the industry, and was also named as one of the top 10 star fund managers of tomorrow by the Daily Telegraph. Other notable accolades have come from Citywire Americas, which named Fraser number one in their global high yield manager review, and InvestmentEurope and Investment Week, which both named the Federated Hermes Multi-Strategy Credit Fund top global bond fund at their respective 2017 Fund Manager of the Year Awards.

Richard Adams
Senior Investment Director at American Century Investments

Richard Adams is responsible for representing the firm’s investment capabilities and views across all asset classes to clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Prior to joining American Century Investments in 2018, Richard was a director and client portfolio manager covering global, U.S. and Japan equities for Columbia Threadneedle Investments. Richard has worked in the investment industry since 2001 and holds a bachelor’s degree in History, master’s degree in Finance from the University of London, and a postgraduate diploma from the University of Oxford.

Otto Reventlow
CEO and Founder of IWC, working in partnership with BNPP AM

Otto Reventlow has been CEO since the founding of IWC in 1991. He was appointed by the two institutional investors who founded IWC. Prior to this, he worked for the Danish Private Forest Owners Association, responsible for pricing and appraisals of Danish and foreign forest properties. Otto holds an MSc in Forestry from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University of Copenhagen, which he obtained in 1988. In addition, Otto has more than 25 years of experience with international timberland investments and is a member of the Executive Management Group.

Clare Flynn Levy
Founder and CEO of Essentia Analytics

Clare Flynn Levy is the founder and CEO of Essentia Analytics, a fintech firm that uses decision attribution analytics to help both equity fund managers and allocators of capital identify investment skill and bias - and continuously improve their decision-making.Prior to founding Essentia, Clare spent 10 years as a fund manager, both active equity (running over $1bn of pension funds for Deutsche Asset Management) and hedge (as CIO of Avocet Capital Management, a long-short tech fund manager). She ultimately crossed over into the software space as the President of Beauchamp Financial Technology, a market-leading provider of portfolio management systems to hedge funds, which was acquired by Linedata Services S.A.
